A look at Crime Prevention in North Bay.

If you live in North Bay & Struggle. I hope this is an option that has been made readily available to you.

“Crime, is it is nuisance to society & a black-white way of reviewing people’s capacity for goodness? Or is a crime a mechanism used by the lower class as a method of survival.” Ashton Deroy

Over the weekend I placed myself in North Bay to recover from flu for which I overstressed. It is here where I am staying with 2 individuals. One who is diagnosed with PTSD one of the conditions I have. As well as another individual with autism a condition I also share. In order to protect their identities, their names will be omitted from this article.  My trip to get here was over 10 hours including my commute into downtown Toronto. Since arriving I have had traveling sickness & 2 major anxiety attacks.

It was here I learned about the policing environment executed in North Bay. Sure on the surface, it looks like a town all nice & cutely put together. Decorated with Private businesses & plenty of middle class to go around. It is the kind of place where someone can get drunk in their buddy’s shed. However, behind that quietness, there is a silent sadness occurring.

People with mental disorders in this town seem to shut out the world. At 7/23/2018 I am in a home with the aforementioned amazing hosts & because of the environment with frequent rainfall & social class policing my hosts are often locked inside. Where are their supports? This is going to have to be a question I answer in this journal.

What is Crime Prevention, according to Wikipedia refer to the quote below:

Wiki Define crime prevention

This article discusses the ugliness is racial profiling that exists in an overactive policing system related to New York. City.  https://www.aljazeera.com/programmes/insidestoryamericas/2012/06/201261952286250.html

How does this relate to North Bay?

North Bay in relationship to New York.png

New York is 10 hours away from North Bay.

North Bay To Toronto.png

About a 3-hour drive from Toronto.

North Bay to Ottawa.png

Plus 22 hours from Ottawa.

These three communities probably have the biggest influence on the structure created for North Bay society. I said earlier that this was largely a private community. Tons of small businesses, churches & tourism spots.

How does the policing look?

It is 8:00am/800. I am going to walk around to see if I can see a patrol car watching things. I want to mention that I believe even if they used a complaint based policing system in this town. The enforcement may still be executed much too swiftly. As commonly believed political theory states that Conservatism of a private economy much resembles a cleaner but still a devastating organizational fascism.

The police do not know me in this town. So if one was to profile me I am going to look disabled, in sweatpants & a baggy misfitting t-shirt. If possible I would love the chance to talk to a police officer about this crime prevention service. I will let you know how it goes.

Private communities AKA “outside my door I am blind.”

I am from a small town called Brighton Ontario. This above quote is the unfortunate truth I know about private communities.

Even from my time growing up in rural Canada. There was no teaching my community fast enough about the changed landscape of gay rights, religious freedoms & non-conforming gender individuals. The community was too busy devouring anyone who seemed different.

Police car.jpg
800/8:00am crime patrol and crime prevention car going about their route.

My new friend out patrolling at 800/8:00am. In case you missed it, I tried to get myself profiled in raggedy clothes so I could ask them about their crime prevention service. What I think I did wrong & what I can’t duplicate? Police have never agitated me so I don’t initiate hostility with them like my friends who claim,”We get pulled over all the time.” I also had brushed hair. A guy with brushed hair in sweatpants with big arms is just a fitness freak. When the hair is unruly that is when you get profiled as a lower class citizen.

My experience with police is more helpful than most. Police have been used to calm me and intervene in behaviors where I was a danger to myself as a young person with autism. This is one thing the Quinte West OPP do really well. I can remember when I was 14 the police have to get involved with stopping my mom’s intoxicated driving boyfriend. Back then it was one of the best things that could have possibly happened to our family.

Unfortunately, our mom stuck with him through his stupidities & he continues to abuse as well as scare me until I moved out at 14. That was the first time I was kicked out!

Is crime about survival?

“You won’t let me have the resources I need, so I find them.” I think that is what my friends would say if they were as articulate as me. You forget with the disability comes an innate barrier. You can’t access employment because so much of your life is out of control, you can’t access community resources because of they all close early, but you can access a hospital. Which is ironic since many of us in and around Toronto end up there after pushing our mental buttons down too hard.

A little hint, “Crime is about survival.”

Stories I can recall thus far.

  1. They found money around a gas station that accepted Point of Sale transaction at the pump. Meaning money commonly falls on the ground at these locations.
  2. They frauded a credit card as a means of survival.
  3. They were homeless in Toronto & traveled to North Bay by public & private transit.
  4. They as well as I can recall sleeping outside.

Questions I still have.

  1. Are the police using some form of intimidation to scare minority criminals?
  2. Is Social stigma in association with crime a barrier here?
  3. How do I apply what I have learned & my experiences to heal my own brain?
  4. Will my new friends find happiness together? Or will they find isolation? They deserve to be as happy as anyone else. hearts.png

Summarizing experiences under talked about with Seneca Pride.

Queer Brand Experience Seneca Pride Review .png

Written by Ashton Deroy

You will notice Seneca Pride is on a leash on this picture & SSF is the master. That is because in my unfiltered opinion that is the relationship between the Seneca Pride & Seneca Student Federation.

I was kicked out of the group in 2018 for posting an equal opportunity job posting on their Facebook page. If it doesn’t sound stupid enough, the administration including Melissa Ronson & Stephanie Bagley continued to harass me over a mistake I didn’t even know I was making at the time.

I could be bitter, I could be by myself. I decided to write this review instead.

How do you rate Seneca Pride as a Safe Space 1-5

1

Not only do I not consider it an overly safe space. I consider it to be a clique in its current state. If you don’t serve Queen Bagley & the Seneca Student Federation at this time you have no use to anyone here. “OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!” The Queen seeks blood. When she is not ditching the group to hang out with her girlfriend of the month.

How do you rate Seneca Pride as a mental health resource 1-5

Again how can you be a mental health resource when you serve only the parties interested on a bureaucratic level? They fired there web designer because he posted a bad job posting. They should of fired me over writing something like this. Now I am free to do this though so it sucks to be you Seneca Pride.

Should Seneca Pride be given the permission to expand in to an office?

No it should not be. The group has operated very unprofessionally and turned triggering a new PTSD patient in to a fun pass time for the admin group Melissa Ronson & Stephanie Bagley. I feel like this group is only now useful to serve the bureaucratic purposes of these individuals & therefore is less useful to the autisi-queer population, Seneca outliers from the main communities & Non-Binary persons.

The admin are a team of *** kissers who avoid conflict with the Seneca Student Federation. at all cost even when groups of the organization are offended by a Seneca Student Federation event. Then they took the extra steps to try & censor me for hosting this forum to the full expression of free speech that it deserves!

Conclude your findings about Seneca Newnham Pride

I hate to say it but you deserve to be on this forum. Not only are you a group that doesn’t stick up properly for your legal standards of human rights. You are now a group monopolized by a social clique. It is disgusting and it spits on everything LGBTQ+ people fought for to get the charter of human rights.

Call to action

Are you concerned about this article? Lets talk about it. I am 100% open to conversations with people outside the Seneca Student Federation. Contact me personally at Ashtonderoy@gmail.com or add me to WhatsApp at 647-850-6802. I want as many people to know as many details as humanly possible for this article.

Service review for Chiefly.

Queer Brand experience Logo.png

Ashton Deroy Writes: I am actually sorry this has to go up at all. “LOL JK I love these catty service reviews!”

If you don’t know and you are wondering. “What is the Queer Brand Experience?” Relax, it is mostly a gay guy behind his keyboard shit talking a ton of brands on the internet & messing with people.

“I am still concerned”, You might say out of stress. Listen I shut this down over the advice from the same guy who told me I shouldn’t start my own business, that people paying for my service was disturbing, & that I didn’t have enough skill.

To him I say, “Search my name b*****!” I show up, do you? I don’t care.

Review is for

  1. Cheefly, A failed Marijuana interest blog
  2. Buyer: Ashton Deroy, Store manager of Bongs-R-Us
  3. Cost: $27 CAD

Cheefly.png

So maybe this bad review is partially my fault. I know what I expected from an internet ad vendor, but I definitely didn’t get what I wanted from Cheefly.

Here is the summarized experience:

  1. Purchasing the ad buy & asking for help with content production, No content suggestions were made. LocalSEODude does not care about this forum, it has no identity he just wants you to turn in content like a library book.
  2. No suggestions were made for edit, internet ad sales are kind of automated now. So people who have never done it forget that this is a part of the package.
  3. He forgot to Backlink, he either forgot to upsell me additionally for the backlink or the idiot just forgot! “I am sorry are you not Local SEO dude?”
  4. No Traffic! , If I had looked at this forum I would see it was abandoned because the owner does not care.

What I did wrong? I am pretty eager to get my team paid. So on Fiverr admittedly I didn’t check on his work before approving payment. I should have made him revise the pitch. Then sadly Fiverr doesn’t let you rate them during the service part of the purchase. From there I had to speak up.

The good part from this? Queer Brand Experience made a guest appearance on the Ashton Deroy web page 🙂

Events Marketing product update

Events marketing product.png

Ashton Deroy Writes: The link above links to our Fiverr Service product. Plan your next Pride event  or regular event with the assistance of the crew at the Mayb. We are designers, freelance writers & designers.

I personally have 3+ years experience doing LGBTQ Pride event Marketing, public relations and writer promotion. Clients of mine have previously received recognition from BBC world News and local recognition on Radio news mediums.

Most famously I was well known for trying to manage the internal chaos of the Kingston pride event in 2016. I was trying relieve tensions with Kingston pride & the gender-nonconforming community by being out myself as gender non-conforming and showing the support Kingston pride had given to me.

“My passion is events & causes that make a difference and have huge impacts of the economics of a community.”

What are we in the process of doing?

  1. Finding a DJ to help with the production of a 30 minute radio show with 2 5 minute talks segments. Looking for cost per show, pitch on Fiverr.
  2. Getting an electronic shop up to design & sell T-shirts related to pride
  3. Creating a content outline.

I just wanted to share more of the spirit of Toronto Pride today. So all day I will be uploading photo & video content to my LGBTQ+ resource hub.

I think my favorite photo has to be with my new friend Rosie who have I enjoyed my time with thus far. So now what now what is the plan for the Mayb?

Well we are actually toying with making this the place for the starter company ad agency. We already have the website infrastructure in place and this is one of the higher rated projects I run on WordPress so it just seems like this could work out really well.

Right now we are up to something like 40 subscribers in our global circulation and I am really enthused about the global community relationships I have been working to build.

As far as social media goes, I just filter all my home grown projects through my name now. So be sure to like my page on Facebook below. Thank you for reading, subscribe, comment or email, ashtonderoy@gmail.com

Ryley James on the teen rebel phase

Written by Ryley James

Anonymous request for advice from Ryley,

“My sister who is bisexual and a teen is experiencing a rebellious phase with marijuana misuse. Do you have any experience in this area?”

While I did go through a rebel phase (it is hard not to with parents who don’t particularly support or care about who you are), I never did drugs or anything like that. I was more concerned about how I was going to pass my classes and pay for school and the rest of my generalized anxiety disorder. I was never doing drugs, and by the time I was in a place both mentally and physically where I could have tried it, I was in a safe space where I could successfully weigh the pros and cons of the situation. I decided that it was better to leave the smoking to my friends who did that than to try it myself. For me, my rebel phase was more about my body and what I looked and felt like.

As soon as I could do so without consequences, whatever I could do to make my parents uncomfortable with who I was and what I looked like, I took that chance. I got my first facial piercing the moment I got out of high school, I dyed my hair strange colors as soon as physically possible after graduation, I got my lip pierced soon after and my first tattoo for the same reasons. Even now I pick my clothing not only based on what will make me feel good about myself, but what would have my parent’s telling me am not allowed to leave the house until I put on something more conservative. Even if I didn’t do the same thing she is doing, I did go through the same phase, and I probably felt similar things to what she is feeling.
I had been living in a space where I felt like I was confined to a role I didn’t fit, and as soon as I had the means and the space to do so, I changed something I could control so that even if I had to
continue living that role I could do so knowing I was living it my way.
Rebellion itself (be it mine or that of any historical or literary context) has always been about control;I wouldn’t doubt that her’s is too. If I am correct, she is doing this as a way to take back control of her life during a time when she feels like she doesn’t have control. The best thing for you to do in that situation, is to take a step back and just let her do it.
Let her feel in control of what happens to her, and don’t be high and mighty if things go south.

Don’t try to lecture her on safety, don’t try to insert yourself into the situation, don’t try to steer her decisions. It is scary, yeah, because when it comes to keeping her safe there really isn’t much you can do with a hands-off approach, but in the long run not only will it be better for her to have these mistakes and victories under her belt, but it will be better for your relationship too.
If she comes to you for help, hear her out like an adult. Listen to her problem, help her look into solutions, and if she picks a solution that you wouldn’t go with but ultimately won’t end up hurting herself or others, don’t try to shut her down or steer her away from it. Don’t treat her like a child. Treat her like a person who can make informed decisions, because that is what she is.
More likely than not she knows more about her situation than you think she does, and even that you do. She is bound to make mistakes, but that doesn’t mean that she is uninformed or doesn’t know what her situation is. You can be there to catch her if she falls even if she doesn’t want you there to help her every other step of the way.
Be a safety net, not a strait jacket, because that is what she needs right now.
