Business & Marketing products, SWOT analysis notes on supporting IPhone products

Ashton Deroy supporting Iphone products since 2015

Written by Ashton Deroy, independent comm tech supporter. Apple’s value as a company has moved to the trillions. In 2014-2016 I worked in the communications technology field in cellular company call center outsourcers. This is where I would have serviced Iphone’s in my professional career from the customer service perspective. This post outlines a SWOT analyis on Iphone Product support.

This product is designed to do two things.

  1. Create desire with high quality mobile technology.
  2. Be so sleek consumers take out credit with their provider just to owe them on the purchase for the phone.

Strengths in servicing an IPhone

  • User friendly visual medium. It makes it very easy to navigate the customer.
  • There is a basic understanding of common use errors.
  • Easy to use collaborative network applications such as voter database used when I volunteered for the Liberals in 2018.

Weaknesses in servicing the IPhone Customers don’t understand the asset’s tab

  • Customers’ don’t understand their service contracts
  • Customers’ pay way over the average cost of a phone which creates an unrealistic service expectation
  • Customers do not understand their complicated technology which surpasses the function of even their own brain.

Opportunities to improve I-Phone Service

  • The more readily available video tutorials & promoted support lines the better.
  • Creating specific comprehensive readily available I-Phone training lectures.
  • Creating a list of recommended apps available for customer’s use purposes to index the level of safe use for an app. Publications should be encouraged to review apps with even more User experience depth.

Threats to I-Phone customer service

  • Not experienced agents mess up IPhone supports due to complexity.
  • Complicated network troubleshooting leading to difficult use on WiFi use in certain environments. For example poor WiFi/Cellular signals or working with an older homes built not to consider network infrastructure.
  • Product Devalued after other company’s launch similar Smartphones are available at lower market costs.

I-Phones are technologically intriguing products that lead the industry, but how long can the success last with Android continuing their innovation? What will happen in the North American Market as consumers shift to the use of used electronics, eco-friendly & fair trade companies? One has to think these changes will leave Apple out in the dust when the value of the company eventually decreases due to lack of market sustainability.  What are SWOT Analysis shows?

It  shows that Apple Products have perceived customer value. However may have to go to extreme lengths of leveraging credit to purchase the products. Once the demand for credit decreases so to should the demand on high cost cellular products. Ultimately it is my feeling that these phones offer more value than consumers require from their telephone service which will make consumer eventually want a simpler option.

This could possibly lead to the loss of momentum in Apple products when the company eventually retracts from the market. A Trillion dollars in market value can not be retained especially as the North American Markets move to Conservative ideological economic values which are used to reduce debt in both Business to Business & Business to consumer markets.

Service review for Chiefly.

Queer Brand experience Logo.png

Ashton Deroy Writes: I am actually sorry this has to go up at all. “LOL JK I love these catty service reviews!”

If you don’t know and you are wondering. “What is the Queer Brand Experience?” Relax, it is mostly a gay guy behind his keyboard shit talking a ton of brands on the internet & messing with people.

“I am still concerned”, You might say out of stress. Listen I shut this down over the advice from the same guy who told me I shouldn’t start my own business, that people paying for my service was disturbing, & that I didn’t have enough skill.

To him I say, “Search my name b*****!” I show up, do you? I don’t care.

Review is for

  1. Cheefly, A failed Marijuana interest blog
  2. Buyer: Ashton Deroy, Store manager of Bongs-R-Us
  3. Cost: $27 CAD

So maybe this bad review is partially my fault. I know what I expected from an internet ad vendor, but I definitely didn’t get what I wanted from Cheefly.

Here is the summarized experience:

  1. Purchasing the ad buy & asking for help with content production, No content suggestions were made. LocalSEODude does not care about this forum, it has no identity he just wants you to turn in content like a library book.
  2. No suggestions were made for edit, internet ad sales are kind of automated now. So people who have never done it forget that this is a part of the package.
  3. He forgot to Backlink, he either forgot to upsell me additionally for the backlink or the idiot just forgot! “I am sorry are you not Local SEO dude?”
  4. No Traffic! , If I had looked at this forum I would see it was abandoned because the owner does not care.

What I did wrong? I am pretty eager to get my team paid. So on Fiverr admittedly I didn’t check on his work before approving payment. I should have made him revise the pitch. Then sadly Fiverr doesn’t let you rate them during the service part of the purchase. From there I had to speak up.

The good part from this? Queer Brand Experience made a guest appearance on the Ashton Deroy web page 🙂

Hey, so you’ve connected to my webspace because there is a lot to see. I am an ex-ad salesperson with an adventurous entrepreneur’s spirit & a tech support person’s continuing curiosity. I often get asked, how did you begin your journey as a designer? Believe it or not, I am not going to talk about college here. I actually used to organize the bulletin boards of promotional music for Riverside Music in 2013-2014.

Riverside music.jpg

It was actually here when I was a punk kid where my manager told me she thought I had the spirit of an artist. Of course, I disregarded it, pretended it was just something older people said to teenagers. Was she ever right though? Her name was Maggie and she gave me the best co-op experience I’ve ever had high school or college.

When we were struggling with our home lives in 2013, Maggie would invite us to after-school events at the Riverside Music. So I and my brother could escape to the sound of music and remember for a minute, we are just teenagers. The weight of the world does not need to be on our shoulders. Amongst the artists/musicians & the counterculture youth groups was always where my brother & I felt most at home. As two gay youth in the small town of Quinte West.

Ryley James on the teen rebel phase

Written by Ryley James

Anonymous request for advice from Ryley,

“My sister who is bisexual and a teen is experiencing a rebellious phase with marijuana misuse. Do you have any experience in this area?”

While I did go through a rebel phase (it is hard not to with parents who don’t particularly support or care about who you are), I never did drugs or anything like that. I was more concerned about how I was going to pass my classes and pay for school and the rest of my generalized anxiety disorder. I was never doing drugs, and by the time I was in a place both mentally and physically where I could have tried it, I was in a safe space where I could successfully weigh the pros and cons of the situation. I decided that it was better to leave the smoking to my friends who did that than to try it myself. For me, my rebel phase was more about my body and what I looked and felt like.

As soon as I could do so without consequences, whatever I could do to make my parents uncomfortable with who I was and what I looked like, I took that chance. I got my first facial piercing the moment I got out of high school, I dyed my hair strange colors as soon as physically possible after graduation, I got my lip pierced soon after and my first tattoo for the same reasons. Even now I pick my clothing not only based on what will make me feel good about myself, but what would have my parent’s telling me am not allowed to leave the house until I put on something more conservative. Even if I didn’t do the same thing she is doing, I did go through the same phase, and I probably felt similar things to what she is feeling.
I had been living in a space where I felt like I was confined to a role I didn’t fit, and as soon as I had the means and the space to do so, I changed something I could control so that even if I had to
continue living that role I could do so knowing I was living it my way.
Rebellion itself (be it mine or that of any historical or literary context) has always been about control;I wouldn’t doubt that her’s is too. If I am correct, she is doing this as a way to take back control of her life during a time when she feels like she doesn’t have control. The best thing for you to do in that situation, is to take a step back and just let her do it.
Let her feel in control of what happens to her, and don’t be high and mighty if things go south.

Don’t try to lecture her on safety, don’t try to insert yourself into the situation, don’t try to steer her decisions. It is scary, yeah, because when it comes to keeping her safe there really isn’t much you can do with a hands-off approach, but in the long run not only will it be better for her to have these mistakes and victories under her belt, but it will be better for your relationship too.
If she comes to you for help, hear her out like an adult. Listen to her problem, help her look into solutions, and if she picks a solution that you wouldn’t go with but ultimately won’t end up hurting herself or others, don’t try to shut her down or steer her away from it. Don’t treat her like a child. Treat her like a person who can make informed decisions, because that is what she is.
More likely than not she knows more about her situation than you think she does, and even that you do. She is bound to make mistakes, but that doesn’t mean that she is uninformed or doesn’t know what her situation is. You can be there to catch her if she falls even if she doesn’t want you there to help her every other step of the way.
Be a safety net, not a strait jacket, because that is what she needs right now.
